BISP students in Years 10–13 took part in a focused SAT preparation session on 15 September, led by Harvard graduate Eddie Gonet and designed to help students better understand the Digital SAT and approach the test with confidence.

Held in the new Senior School Study Centre, the session was also a great example of the space coming to life. Designed to bring academic study and future planning together, the centre is home to BISP’s University Counsellors and provides a dedicated environment where Senior School students can study, collaborate and explore their pathways beyond BISP.

Understanding the Digital SAT

During the session, Eddie introduced students to the SAT structure and adaptive digital format, alongside practical strategies for test day, including time management, question selection, strategic guessing and effective use of Desmos.

Rather than simply working through practice questions, students had the opportunity to understand how the test works and consider different approaches that can help them use their time and knowledge more effectively.

For students considering university pathways where the SAT may form part of the application process, the session provided another layer of preparation alongside the guidance available through BISP’s University Counselling programme.

With students now making use of the Senior School Study Centre for sessions such as this, as well as independent study, collaboration and university planning, the new space is beginning to take on the role it was created for: a place where students can take greater ownership of their learning and start preparing for what comes next.
