Our Year 3 students recently enjoyed a memorable and enriching visit to the Phuket Mining Museum, where their classroom learning was brought vividly to life.

The trip provided a valuable opportunity for students to explore the history of tin mining in Phuket, an industry that played a significant role in shaping the island’s development. As they moved through the exhibits, students learned about the tin mining process, from extraction to production, gaining a clearer understanding of how the industry operated in the past.

In addition to the technical aspects, the visit also offered meaningful insight into the culture and daily lives of the Chinese community during that period. Through detailed displays and immersive environments, students were able to connect with the experiences of people who lived and worked in Phuket many years ago.

It was wonderful to see the curiosity and engagement of our students throughout the day, as they asked thoughtful questions and made connections to their current learning. Experiences like this continue to support and deepen understanding beyond the classroom in a purposeful and engaging way.
