As BISP prepares to share Mid-Year Reports and welcome parents to consultations in early February, it is timely to reflect on the achievements celebrated at the IGCSE Certificate Ceremony held in November 2025. The ceremony marked an important academic milestone for our Year 11 cohort and continues to provide a clear reference point for the progress and growth students demonstrate as they move through Senior School.

Held on Tuesday 18th November 2025, the IGCSE Certificate Ceremony brought together students, parents, and staff to formally recognise the completion of Key Stage 4 for our Year 11 cohort. The ceremony opened with a moment of reflection and respect, including a one-minute silence in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, followed by the Thai Royal Anthem. This set a tone of dignity and gratitude before the celebrations began.

Mr Terry and Mrs Clark welcomed the community, joined by Headmaster Mr Meredith, Secondary Principal Mr Pearson, and Deputy Principal Mrs Cockerill, who would later present certificates and awards. The afternoon was thoughtfully interwoven with musical performances by Miss Cindy on piano and a vocal performance by Katie Leon, alongside the student representative speeches that captured the spirit and unity of the cohort.

Celebrating Results—and the Journey Behind Them

The 2025 IGCSE cohort achieved outstanding results, with 94% of all grades at A–C* and 40% at A–A*, among the strongest outcomes in BISP’s history. These results reflect not only academic ability, but sustained effort, resilience, and the capacity to respond positively to challenge.

As highlighted during the ceremony, the certificates presented symbolise far more than final grades. They represent perseverance through mock examinations, confidence developed through speaking assessments, and the determination to improve over time, qualities that remain central as students progress through the IB and BTEC pathways.

A Cohort Defined by Character

In her address, Mrs Clark spoke warmly about the character of the year group: a cohort known for its energy, creativity, and unity. Across academics, sport, and the arts, students consistently demonstrated not only talent, but also kindness, respect, and a strong sense of community. This culture, evident throughout their IGCSE years, has continued into Year 12, where the group has already established itself as a positive and engaged presence within Senior School.

The student leadership shown by representatives Daisy, Chloe, Mika, and Katie, through initiatives such as Year 11 huddles and cohort events, was a particular highlight, modelling collaboration and shared responsibility that will serve them well in the years ahead.

Recognising Exceptional Achievement

Alongside the presentation of IGCSE certificates to tutor groups 12A–12E, the ceremony recognised exceptional academic performance through special awards.

A highlight of the afternoon was the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award for Top in Thailand in IGCSE World Literature, presented to Aelia Noret. Her results, including an exceptional 29/30 in unseen poetry, reflected both academic excellence and a deep intellectual curiosity.

BISP also recognised outstanding overall performance through its internal awards:

  • Orange Riband: Hii San Kim
  • Blue Riband: Emma Zitek and Vittoria Vaccari

Looking Ahead with Confidence

In his closing address, Mr Pearson described the cohort’s outcomes as among the strongest he has seen in his 15 years at BISP, particularly given the size of the year group. He challenged students to continue raising the bar as they move towards their final years of schooling.

As Mid-Year Reports are released and parent consultations approach, the IGCSE Certificate Ceremony serves as a reminder that strong results are built over time through consistency, resilience, and partnership between students, teachers, and families. We congratulate once again our IGCSE graduates and look forward to supporting them as they continue their Senior School journeys at BISP.
