After spending 12 years as part of the BISP community, former staff members Eva Mooney and Kru Pla recently returned to campus with their children, Joe and Emma, reconnecting with familiar faces and revisiting a place that continues to hold a special place in their hearts.
Eva and Kru Pla worked at British International School, Phuket (BISP) from 2010 to 2022. During that time, Eva taught English before becoming Head of English, while Kru Pla worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Art department and later in Little Ducks.
Their children, Joe and Emma, also grew up at BISP, attending the school from Little Ducks until the family’s departure in 2022.
That year, they moved to Australia to be closer to family and begin a new chapter on the Gold Coast. Eva is now a Senior English teacher at St Michael’s College, where Joe is preparing for his final year in 2027, having been appointed School Captain. Emma will also join the college as she begins Year 7, while Kru Pla now works at one of the Gold Coast’s most popular Thai restaurants.
Despite settling into life in Australia, their connection to BISP remains strong.
The children still remember their teachers and the after-school activities they enjoyed, while Eva and Kru Pla fondly recall the daily school lunches. Above all, it is the people they miss most.
We all miss the people in BISP, for this is what makes the school community so wonderful,” Eva shared. “Being welcomed back so warmly really makes us miss BISP even more!
It was a pleasure to welcome Eva, Kru Pla, Joe and Emma back to campus and hear about their lives in Australia. Their visit was a lovely reminder of the friendships and connections that continue long after families leave BISP.
