Students from BISP’s Mid-Air Circus Arts (MACA) Aerial Performance Academy recently travelled to Manila, Philippines, to compete in the prestigious Coach A Cup Aerial Silks Competition, delivering exceptional performances on an international stage.

Open to athletes from as young as eight years old, the Coach A Cup provides aerialists with a platform to showcase both athleticism and artistry through Aerial Silks. The competition followed strict international standards, with routines judged under the POSA (Pole Sports and Arts) Code of Points for Aerial Silks, written by the POSA World Federation. This ensured athletes were assessed according to world-class criteria for technique, execution and performance quality.

The MACA team travelled to Manila 10 athletes strong and returned home with an impressive eight medals. We are proud to celebrate the following achievements:

Junior A Novice

  • 1st Place: Avigail (Fifi), Year 6 (BISP)
  • 2nd Place: Arina
  • 3rd Place: Ysabel, Year 8 (BISP)

Junior A Intermediate

  • 1st Place: Arina
  • 2nd Place: Isabella (Bella)

Junior B Intermediate

  • 1st Place: Hiisan, Year 12 (BISP)
  • 3rd Place: Carlotta, Year 13 (BISP)

Adult Intermediate

  • 1st Place: Meranee (Coach Fiw)

Beyond the podium finishes, every athlete demonstrated resilience, discipline and composure under great pressure. Competing at this level requires not only strength and technical precision, but also immense confidence; qualities the students displayed with pride.

We extend our congratulations to all the Aerialists and coaches for their dedication and hard work. To achieve such impressive results in such a prestigious international competition are something we can all be proud of.
