We are thrilled to announce that the prestigious World Scholars Cup is coming to our campus at the British International School, Phuket (BISP) on 9th and 10th February 2024! Get ready for an exhilarating and intellectually stimulating experience that will challenge and inspire young minds from all corners of the globe. Prior to the event, representatives from WSC will visit the BISP on Thursday 23rd November to further promote the event and kick off registrations. 

So, mark your calendars for two days of academic adventure, as we welcome brilliant scholars, debaters, and future leaders from diverse backgrounds to compete in this renowned international tournament. The World Scholars Cup is not just a competition; it’s a celebration of knowledge, collaboration, and cultural exchange.

What is the World Scholars Cup?

For the uninitiated, the World Scholars Cup is an unparalleled event that fosters a passion for learning and exploration. It brings together students from different countries and cultures to engage in various events such as debates, collaborative writing, and a challenging quiz called the Scholar’s Challenge. This unique programme encourages critical thinking, teamwork, and an appreciation for global issues.

Why Attend?

Participating in the World Scholars Cup at BISP will be an experience like no other. Teams of three students in either one of two divisions (Junior and Seniors) will have the opportunity to:

1. Engage with Diverse Perspectives:

   Interact with peers from around the world, exchange ideas, and gain fresh perspectives on various subjects.

2. Enhance Critical Skills:

   Sharpen critical thinking, public speaking, and teamwork skills through intense debates and collaborative writing.

3. Foster Lifelong Friendships:

4. Explore the Beauty of Phuket:

   Enjoy the stunning tropical paradise of Phuket, Thailand, known for its beautiful beaches, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality.

5. Opportunity to Go Beyond:

   Students who do well in the local event will be invited to the global round and students who excel at the globals will be invited to the tournament of champions at Yale University.

The registration cost will be approximately 4000THB per student and this will include an alpaca cuddly toy, meals, snacks, trophies and medals during the event.
